Alchemilla mollis is a useful plant for almost any position in the garden, being happy in either sun or shade. It forms neat spreading clumps of soft, downy, pleated leaves and loose sprays of tiny green flowers. It is useful as an edging, particularly between a border and a path or gravel, and its flower colour blends in with most colour schemes, softening the harsher oranges and yellows. It is also useful for flower arranging, both for its flowers and leaves.
It is hardy to -15^oC, and self-seeds very willingly.
