Geranium macrorrhizum is a medium-sized hardy Geranium useful for evergreen ground cover and in shady spots. It has sticky, lobed leaves, smelling strongly of ripe plums (or ripe Passion Fruit), which turn red in autumn. It spreads by rhizomes to form large colonies. In early summer, it bears small clusters of flat flowers in shades of pink or white, with protruding red stamens and inflated red calyces.
