Cyclamen hederifolium is an easy plant to grow from seed, although seeds may take some time to germinate. It is a miniature version of the popular houseplant, but is hardy in the UK, and is particularly suitable for a shady or woodland garden, where it multiplies quickly. Cyclamen hederifolium has, as its name suggests, leaves shaped like those of ivy, usually marbled and zoned in various shades of green and silver. The relatively large flowers are in some shade of pink or white (Cyclamen hederifolium f albiflorum), as in the photograph.
