Eschscholzia californica

Eschscholzia californica is a popular perennial usually grown as an annual. It is happy in dry, poor soil, where it produces small bushes of finely cut greeny-blue foliage covered in bright single or semi-double pleated poppy-like flowers throughout summer. If left in the garden over the winter, it will reappear in mild areas, but older plants can become leggy and trailing.
