Penstemon serrulatus

Penstemon serrulatus is a shrubby leafy perennial, unlike the more familiar hybrids with their tall spikes of large tubular flowers. It is a small woody shrub, about 15" or so high, with lax bending stems and bright green toothed leaves. In summer, it bears tight flat-topped clusters of bright purple to blue flowers. There is also a white form.
