Helianthemum nummularium is a native British wildflower, forming a small woody shrublet, with narrow deep green pointed leaves and rounded yellow flowers in summer. Hybrids are now available in white, yellows, pinks, oranges and reds. They form rounded tuffets, and are useful for dry, sunny sites or walls, but they can easily become leggy, and do better if cut back hard after flowering.
