Geranium wallichianum 'Buxton's Variety' is more often referred to as just Geranium 'Buxton's Blue'. It is a small herbaceous perennial Geranium, growing to about 8" high, but spreading more than that. The leaves are very similar to those of a buttercup. The flowers are quite distinctive, in the best specimens being almost sky blue with darker veins, a white centre, and conspicuous dark stamens. It flowers throughout the summer and autumn, then dies down completely for the winter. It does well in an open, sunny spot in fairly dry soil.

'beak' of the flower.
Seed The seeds are brown ovals. There are five seeds from each flower, in a ring at the bottom
of the style.
Seedling The seedleaves are rounded with a notch, with a long reddish stem. The first true leaves
are lobed.
Geranium seeds may germinate faster if they are nicked slightly before sowing.
