Campanula persicifolia

Campanula persicifolia is quite a delicate-looking plant, although, like many of its relatives, it is, in fact, quite hardy and spreads widely by its light seeds. The blue form arrived in my garden from one of my neighbours. It forms a basal rosette of deep green, shiny, long pointed leaves. In summer and into autumn, it produces open spires of large open bells in white or shades of blue which are at home in both the border or a wild or woodland garden, and can also be used for cutting.
