Trifolium repens

Trifolium repens is one of the most well-known wildflowers, often forming carpets of tiny trefoil leaves in amongst short grasses or on the edges of paths in gardens. The white flowers are in dense rounded heads, often tinged pink at the base, and are held singly on straight stalks above the leaves. The plant is also grown as a crop, to help add nitrogen to the soil.

Trifolium repens has been used in traditional medicine as an antiseptic and to treat rheumatism.
