Geranium robertianum is one of the best-known wildflowers, growing in woods, hedgerows, and rough ground. It is a hairy, delicate plant, with very finely cut leaves, often tinged reddish, with a smell rather than a pleasant aroma. The flowers are pink, with stripes on the petals, which fall easily. In shady conditions, it can reach over a foot, in dry, stony ground, it may be only two or three inches high.
Geranium robertianum has been used in traditional medicine to treat rheumatism, kidney problems and to aid the healing of wounds.

Seed Pod The seedpod is long and thin, like a crane's bill. There are five seeds in a ring at the base
of the 'beak', each with its own cover, attached to the 'beak' by a woody ribbon.
Seed The seeds are very small oval dark brown beads. There are five seeds from each flower.
Seedling The two seedleaves are rounded, each with a long stalk joining the main stem. The stem
is often reddish. The first true leaves are deeply lobed.
