Cymbalaria muralis is a delicate-looking wildflower that is surprisingly adaptable. Often found growing in cracks of old walls, where it forms neat little cushions of purplish stems and succulent-looking rounded ivy-shaped leaves studded with solitary snapdragon-type flowers in pale mauve with yellow lips, purple lines and a white throat, it is also capable of climbing up garden fences to a height of over 3', and its thready pink stems and roots can easily invade a rockery.

Cymbalaria muralis contains chemicals which affect skin cells. It has been used as a traditional medicine to help heal wounds.
