Vicia sepium

Vicia sepium is a common plant of grassy hedges and edges, and often occurs in gardens. It forms dense clumps, usually around 8" or so high, spreading easily by runners, clambering over other plants and obstacles in its path. It has tough pinnate leaves ending in a thin tendril, and clusters of purple flowers which fade to blue or brown, making a patch of them quite colourful and distinctive.
